(Once a user’s TIP ratio falls to 82.99% or below, an automated Integrity Deterioration Warning should be sent to the user’s email address as well as personal message box notifying him that his integrity is slipping and that he should do his best to improve his trader rating. If his Integrity further deteriorates, he will be put on probation where the likelihood of finding trades will be very hard.)
C+ Trader (On Probation) shown next to username (average TIP Ratio 76% to 79.99%)
(Users on probation will be allowed 3 additional transactions to bring their Trader Ratings to a B level at which point the probation will be replaced by Good Sport next to their usernames. Should their TIP Range falls instead of improving after the 3 transactions, these users will be automatically disallowed usage of the system.)
Each time a transaction is completed the users will be notified to leave a TIP and a comment for the other user based solely on each user’s satisfaction with the transaction.
TIP received along with the comments left for each completed transaction will be displayed on the user’s public profile while the user rating will be displayed next to the username
wherever it appears.
What is the TIP?
CampusTrades.Com relies on the integrity of its users to make it as fraud free as possible. While we cannot guarantee that the items you buy from or trade with another user will
actually be delivered, we can help you make informed decisions before you buy or trade. For this reason alone, we have developed a Trader Integrity Points or TIP system through
which a trader awards between 1 to 10 TIPs to a trading partner after each completed transaction. We count on the good faith of each trader to make this work as each TIP left on
a trader’s account will be part of the trader’s permanent record and cannot be erased or modified and can contribute to the trader’s being banned from the network. Please be fair to
your trading partner. Ask the trading partner as many questions about the conditions of the product as you wish before you make a purchase or initiate a trade. After each completed transaction, you will be sent an email and a message in your message box reminding you to leave your trading partner a TIP for the transaction. If unsure, you can always check NO TIP to show your neutrality.
How many TIPs can I leave for a trading partner?
You can leave between a TIP of 1 to 10 based on the condition of the product when you receive it as compared to the description provided by the seller; based on the quickness of
delivery/shipping; and based on the quickness or payment. 1 is the lowest while 10 is the highest. Remember to be fair to your trading partner. If you can’t make up your mind, just
check “NO TIP”. But remember, NO TIP doesn’t help your trading partner’s rating.
What if the Product is not in the condition I expected, do I still have to leave a TIP?
Yes. If the product is not the condition described by the trading partner when you receive it, log back to you account and contact the trading partner to resolve the issue before you leave your TIP. If the trading partner refuses to cooperate, feel free to leave whatever TIP and comment you feel is just for the transaction. If you’re neutral about the transaction, just check “NO TIP”. No TIP remains in the trader’s permanent record for all to see but does not affect
the trader’s overall rating.
How is TIP computed?
Each completed transaction has a value of 10 points. For each completed transaction a trader is awarded a number of points up to 10 points. The number of points received for the
transactions are added up and divided by the total number of completed transactions multiplied by 10 and expressed in percentage to get the TIP Ratio which is an average. If the
TIP Ratio is between 96% to 100% then the trader receives and A+ grade for the transaction. Then we take weighted average of the TIP Ratios for the transactions completed to date. The
weighted average is a far better measure of the trader’s Integrity. If the weighted average is between 96% and 100%, then the trader is an A+ Trader. Whereas, if the weighted average is between 80% to 82.99% the trader is a B- Trader and receives an Integrity Deterioration Warning. Anything below 80%, the trader is then put on probation. If rating doesn’t increase with 3 transactions, the trader will be banned from using the system indefinitely. We do not take average traders!!
